Minnie Ovenice Kelley

KELLEYFAIRHOPE, AL Mrs. Minnie Ovenice Regan Kelley passed away at her home on May 14, 2012,  at the age of 92. Born April 22, 1920, in McCullough, AL, and raised in Excel,  she later moved to Andalusia. There she met her future husband, Emil George Kelley, and they married in 1939. After WW II they settled in Mobile, AL. The couple retired to Sopchoppy, FL in 1973, where Mrs.  Kelley was an active member of the Sopchoppy Homemakers Association. They later moved to Baldwin County, AL in 1987. Mrs. Kelley was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of the Dora Helm Circle. Mrs. Kelley is preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by their only daughter, Deborah Kelley (Barry) Pennington, sister Enee Regan Lietz,  brother Aaron (Colleen) Regan, sister-in-law Regina Regan, grandson Bryan (Lia) Pennington, granddaughters Erin Pennington and Amanda Pennington, great-granddaughter Emma Pennington, dozens of beloved nieces, nephews,  cousins,  in-laws, and loving caretakers Mary Alice Reed, Towaka Dailey, Linda Reed, MaDonna Reed, Margaret McMillan, Joan Dailey, and Darnell McMillan. The family will receive visitors at Fairhope United Methodist Church on  Thursday, May 17, 9:00-11:00. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fairhope UMC Caring Ministries or United Methodist Women in care of Fairhope UMC, 155 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
