Virginia Lee Herndon

DAPHNE, AL   Virginia Lee Herndon passed away Monday, May 13, 2012 at home in Daphne, AL.   Vergie was born on a ranch in Deming , NM on September 4, 1911.  She lived most of her life in southern New Mexico prior to moving in 1999 to Daphne to be near her family.  Vergie was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Herndon in 1995 and her son, Dwain Herndon in 1960.   She is survived by a daughter, Marla Kay and husband, David Chalk of Daphne;  granddaughter, Shelby Stevens and husband, Troy  and their children, Trevor and Reece all of Daphne, AL;  granddaughter, Shanna Broussard and husband, Ken and their children, Ragan and Cole of the Netherlands.   A celebration of Vergie’s life will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church , Spanish Fort, AL .   Interment will be at Monte Vista Cemetery , Alamogordo , NM .
