Sam Brumfield

BRUMFIELDSILVERHILL, AL Sam Brumfield, age 87, native of Magnolia, MS and resident of Silverhill passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. Sam was a U.S. Army veteran, where he was a proud paratrooper during WW II.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Robertsdale and was an extremely knowledgeable fisherman that will be missed by all who knew him. Sam was preceded in death by a son, Virgil J. Brumfield and his parents, Virgil and Janie Brumfield and four siblings. Sam is survived by his wife of 68 years, Yarmilla M. Brumfield of Silverhill;  daughter, Diana (David) Ardis of Hendersonville, NC;  son, Cecil L. Brumfield of West Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Ladd S. Moravek of Denver, CO,  Brian L. Brumfield of Los Angeles, CA,  Justin S. Brumfield of Charleston, SC,  Bailey Brumfield of West Palm Beach, FL and a host of other loving relatives and many friends. The family will receive friends Monday, April 16, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale. Mr. Brumfield will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Silverhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale Building Fund.
