Verna Mae Ismael

FAIRHOPE , AL Verna Mae Ishmael, age 93, formally of East Moline , IL , and resident of Fairhope , AL , passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at a local hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence “Bud” Ishmael, “the love of her life,” parents Henry and Vera Meyer, and grandson, 1rst Sgt. Darrell D. Ishmael.   Mrs. Ishmael is survived by her son, Lawrence “Lonnie” Ishmael (Judy) of Huron, OH, daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Green-Thompson (Tom) of Daphne, AL, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, seven great, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.   Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 11:00 am, at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church at 8717 Fairhope Ave , Fairhope , AL 36532 , or charity of choice.
