Gerald Sweeney McCool

ELBERTA, AL                                           Gerald S. McCool, age 78, a native of Detroit, MI and a resident of Elberta, AL died Friday, March 30, 2012 in Fairhope, AL. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose life centered on God and his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene E. McCool; a son,  Mark A. McCool and a daughter, Diane M. McCool. He is survived by his four children, Dr. Gerald B. (Mary) McCool Of EL Paso, TX, Dr. Kathleen Janowski McCool of Foley, AL, Sherrie McCool (Dan) Bott of Elberta, AL and Jeffery P. (Kristin) McCool of Hobbs, NM;  ten grandchildren, Logan, Atheal, Mark, August, Audrey, Brevin, Teagan, Dakota, Conlin and Jackson. Visitation will be, Tuesday April 3, 2012 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at  St.Margaret’s Queen of Scotland Catholic Church in Foley. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3:00 pm from the church.   Interment service will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Benedict’s Catholic School, Elberta, AL or Community Hospice, Foley, AL.
