Willard Edward "Bill" Carlson

DAPHNE, AL. Mr. Willard E. "Bill" Carlson, Age 93, a native of Mobile, a former resident of  Michigan residing in Daphne, AL passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he was an active member. Mr. Carlson was a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired from Consumer Power Company then he and his wife Bettie moved to Lake Forest where they could play golf everyday. Mr. Carlson is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie. Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Carlson-Valdes of Daphne, AL; one son, Scott L. Carlson of Nashville, TN; one brother, Carl Carlson of Thomasville, AL; one sister, Ann Gaines of Salem, IL; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. In celebration of Mr. Carlson’s life, a memorial service  will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Saturday, March 31, 2012  at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service. Inurnment will be in St. Paul’s Garden of Resurrection. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 28788 N. Main St., Daphne, AL. 36526.
