Beverly Anne Showalter

LILLIAN, AL Beverly Anne Showalter, age 74, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Lillian, Al. She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Sylvia Lech and only brother, Wesley Lech. Mrs. Showalter will be remembered as being generous, friendly, outgoing and fun. She lived life to the fullest.  Mrs. Showalter was an active member of many social clubs in the Lillian community; Lillian Library,  Lillian Women’s Club and the Lillian Community Club where she was Mardi Gras Queen 2009.  She travelled extensively throughout her life and saw many parts of the world.  Mrs. Showalter was admired by many for her taste in clothing, shoes and jewelry.  She loved animals and enjoyed riding horses, raising and and showing Great Danes and was a member of the exclusive Lake Shore Great Dane Club of Illinois.  She will be remembered as energetic and always a hard worker, whether raising her family, grooming dogs, working in the yard and home or volunteering at her numerous social clubs. She is survived by her husband, Marvin B. Showalter of Lillian , AL ;  four children; Michael (Carol) Brookes,  Laura ( Harvey ) Hicks,  Christopher (Patty) Brookes,  Joe Showalter;  four grandsons, David Strasser, James Hicks, Tyler Brookes, Liam Showalter;  cousins, Delores Pecina, Darlene Surch and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 9:30 am at Barrancas National Cemetery , Pensacola , FL.
