Bobby Joe Simpson

ELBERTA, AL Bobby Joe Simpson, age 76, a resident of Elberta, AL, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born in Tell City, Indiana, Bob and Polly met while he was in the U.S. Army in Massachusetts and married in June 1958. They moved to and worked in Kalamazoo, Michigan until retiring to Elberta, AL in 1993.  Bob enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was active with the Wolf Bay Watershed Watch in many capacities; did much volunteer work with Alabama PALS (People Against A Littered State) and received many commendations for his work with Adopt-A-Stream, Adopt-A-Mile and various other PALS endeavors. Bob retired from the military after 27 plus years with the Army and Army National Guard and thoroughly enjoyed living in beautiful Alabama. He was lovingly cared for in his last days by Community Hospice of Foley. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Pauline “Polly” Simpson. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, AL, Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive an hour prior to the service.
