FAIRHOPE , AL   Harry W. Sherman, Sr., age 81, a native of Talladega , AL and a resident of Fairhope, since 1990, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012.   Mr. Sherman was born and grew up in Talladega , AL . He was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and spent his entire career in the pulp & paper and wood products industry. He was also a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program. Harry served as president of the University of Louisiana Monroe foundation, and was a Beta Sigma Gamma business fraternity honoree. While living in Monroe , he also founded a Pulp & Paper Sciences degree program at ULM .  He was managing general partner of Howard Paper Mills based in Dayton, Ohio before retirement. After retirement he served as Interim President of his alma mater, Tennessee Wesleyan College.   He served in the 2 nd Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict and was a commissioned officer in the Alabama National Guard. He was a longtime Methodist and a member of the Fairhope Rotary Club. Mr. Sherman taught a Methodist Small Group ministry in Fairhope for more than 20 years. Mr. Sherman was a member of Church on the Eastern Shore in Fairhope.   He is survived by his wife Frankie, of 57 years and three sons, Harry Sherman II, and Jim Sherman of Fairhope, and John Sherman of Hidden Valley Lake, CA. He has three grandsons, Harry W. Sherman III, (Walker), of Gig Harbor, WA; Coby Lee Sherman, of Fairhope, and Benjamin Nile Sherman, of Ojai, CA. One granddaughter, Nichole Berg of Tacoma, WA, and two great grandchildren, Summer Hart of Tacoma, WA, and Timothy Lucas Sherman of Fairhope.   The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Sunday, February 12, 2012, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.   Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Monday, February 13, 2012, at 10:00am.   Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.   In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the Hope Center at Church on the Eastern Shore, 10274-A Hwy. 104, Fairhope, AL 36532, www.cotes.tv .   ARRANGEMENTS BY WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, INC 19698 GREENO ROAD FAIRHOPE, AL 36532 (251)-990-7775
