Mary Helen Waddell-Bird

WADDELL-BIRDSPANISH FORT, AL Mary Helen Waddell-Bird, age 83 resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 in Fairhope. Ms. Bird was an avid reader and writer, authoring many articles for the Eastern Shore Courier and  a book, “The Playing Tree and Other Stories.”  She was a member of the Pensters Fairhope Chapter and was a former Ms. Senior Baldwin County. Ms. Bird is survived by four children, Gayle (Bob) Brown of Ledyard, CT,  Deborah Radcliff of Wilmington, DE,  Michael Garyantes of Cecilia, KY,  Lisa (Robert) Bird-Babin of Houston, TX;  a sister, Janice Waddell Morrison of Biloxi, MS;  two brothers, C. J. Waddell of Metairie, LA,  George (Bernice) Waddell of Biloxi, MS; five grandchildren and two great grand children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Pensters Fairhope Chapter.
