Margaret Reeder Ponder

FAIRHOPE , AL Margaret Reeder Ponder, 25 March 1943 - 8 November 2011, passed away peacefully in her home at 3 AM on Tuesday, 8 November 2011. Such a strong lovely lady, her strength resounded during her 15 years battling cancer. Her late husband, Jabez “Jack” Mann Ponder III, died on 24 December last year.  Margaret was born in Selma , Alabama . Daughter of Air Force mechanic, Clyde A. Reeder, and Lilla V. Long Reeder, Margaret lived many places before settling in the Mobile-Baldwin area more than 40 years ago. Margaret attended Auburn University . She has been a fun, hilarious, vivacious, beautiful, loving and kind addition to all our lives. She adored all animals and was a gracious joy to everyone who experienced her sweet laugh and smile which was omni-present on her face till the end.  She will be truly missed and forever more an inspiration to all that knew her.  Her survivors include: Son: Patrick Anthony Ponder and his wife Melissa M. Ponder (Fairhope); and Daughters: Kelley Virginia Ponder ( New Orleans ); Hilery Ponder (Montrose) and Reagan “Sandy” Ponder ( Honolulu ). Her brother, William Reeder and his wife, Helen. Grandchildren include Parker Cunningham Ponder; Mary-Patrick D. Ponder; Carson James Cockrell; Bailey Reagan Cockrell, and Michael Giovanni Loia. Her sister-in-law, Virginia Irby Ponder and brother-in-law, Michael Nelson Ponder Sr., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends join the list of people who love her and could regale you with stories of her vivacity and bliss for loving life and family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 11:00 am, at Fairhope United Methodist Church . The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
