Frank F. Jolley

d. November 5, 2011

FAIRHOPE, AL   Frank F. Jolley, 85, of Fairhope went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ November 5, 2011.     Dad was a 37 year resident of Spanish Fort and he and Mom had resided in Fairhope just since April, 2011.  He was born in Rome, Georgia on June 15, 1926 to Henry Baker and Ercie Forster Jolley.  He was a graduate of and current supporter of Darlington School in Rome and a 1950 graduate and faithful, avid supporter of The University of Georgia. He loved his Bulldogs.   From 1944-1945, he was in the European Theater of Operation, Po River Valley, Northern Italy, Technician 5th Grade 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion, from 1946-1950, Marine Corps Reserve, and discharged December 11th, 1950 .   He married his beautiful wife, Doris Green Jolley on June 10, 1950.  They resided initially in Athens, Georgia where their son, Henry was born.  Dad was working there for the J.C. Penney company and then they moved to Gadsden, Alabama where their son, David was born.  Dad worked in retail clothing until he retired and they moved to Spanish Fort in 1964 to manage Thompson's Fine Fashions clothing store.  Dad loved his work.  He loved seeing his customers and meeting people who would come in to shop.  He had many friends all along the Eastern Shore.  He also had many great employees who worked for him that he enjoyed.  Dad did not meet a stranger.  Also, Dad would not let a conversation go by without finding out if the person he was talking to knew his Lord Jesus Christ.  That was the most important thing in Dad's life, being a witness for Christ.  He was a member of two great churches while he lived in Spanish Fort, Old Spanish Fort Baptist Church and Eastern Shore Baptist Church.  He served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, was in the choir and participated in Men's Fellowship and other committees.  He was a servant of his Lord Jesus.  He truly loved people.  He had so many good and precious friends who blessed his life.  He maintained current friendships with people from high school, college, work, and church. We know he is in the place where we all hope to be.  He was a great example of faithfulness to those that knew him, a wonderful father and husband and the most wonderful Papaw to his grandchildren.  Dad/Papaw will be missed my his many friends and family.    Dad is survived by his wonderful wife of 61 years, Doris Green Jolley, sons Henry F. Jolley (Bobbye) of Fairhope, son David E. Jolley (Kay) of Germantown, TN., grandchildren Laura Oppenheimer (Nathan) and great-grandson (Evan) of Collierville, TN., Kristen Eargle (Joshua) and great-granddaughter (Kourtney) of Hallsville, TX., Nathan Jolley of Germantown, TN., Natalie Jolley, of Germantown, TN., Patrick Guy of Fairhope and Mary Jane Krogsgard (Jeff) of Birmingham, Alabama.    Services will be held at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, Monday, November 7, 2011, at 12:00 pm.  Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne, AL.   ARRANGEMENTS BY WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, INC 19698 GREENO ROAD FAIRHOPE, AL 36532 www.wolfefuneralhome.net
