Herbert James Cummings, Jr.

SPANISH FORT, AL Herbert James Cummings, Jr., age 79, a native of Choctaw County, AL, and resident of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday, October 21, 2011. He was a US Navy Veteran of Korean War, and later served in the National Guard. He was a truck driver for over 44 years, 20 of those owning his own trucking company. He is survived by his son, Roy Cummings of Fairhope, AL,Daughter, Sandra Sherrin of Fish River, AL,3 grandchildren,1 great granddaughter,Other relatives and friends. Mr. Cummings is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gladys Myers Cummings. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. A private internment will be held at a later date.
