FAIRHOPE, AL Vincent Charles Scardamalia, age 91, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011. He was a native of Pittsburgh, PA and a longtime resident of Fairhope. Mr. Scardamalia was a US Army veteran of WWII and a professional saxophonist and clarinetist during the Big Band Era and a painter thereafter. He was a passionate, generous person with a great zest for life who always had an opinion. A true gentleman, he always treated others with respect. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. He is survived by his grandsons, Vincent Elijah (Anya) Scardamalia of Fairhope, Richard Adam (Haley) Scardamalia of Spanish Fort; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Scardamalia-Nelson and her husband, David Nelson of Spanish Fort; a great granddaughter, Elyana Scardamalia of Fairhope and his former wife, Renata Scott of Fairhope . A Celebration of his Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Scardamalia Gallery – 68 North Bancroft St., Fairhope, Al. (across from the Windmill Market).
