MOBILE , AL John Myron Boteler, born August 29, 1952, in Tuscaloosa , AL passed on suddenly on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Providence Hospital . John was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and a greeter. He was the owner and operator of Boteler Building Company and had a God given talent to make, remodel or repair just about anything one can imagine. He was highly skilled in his creative talents and bestowed many wonderful and miraculous gifts upon his beloved family and customers. The extraordinary and impressive skills and knowledge he possessed of his craft got him elected as President of the Architectural Committee of the P.O.A of his neighborhood. He was an avid Crimson Tide supporter and loved to talk “Tide Talk” with his grandsons, nephews, cousins and friends. He played baseball at the University of Alabama for two years and prior to that he graduated from Marion Institute where he played football and baseball and was voted Most Valuable Athlete. He touched so many lives with his wonderful and constant sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make other people laugh and feel good about themselves. He was extremely generous in so many ways and always thought of others before himself. He adored his family and loved his friends deeply. There are no words for how much he will be missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Dean Roberts Boteler. He is survived by his loving wife: Susan Parkhouse Boteler; daughters: Stephanie (Terry) Jones of Fairhope, Allyson Dyas of Destin, FL; Grandsons: Geoffrey & Griffin Brooks & Nicholas Dyas; Father: James Knox Boteler Sr. of Tuscaloosa; Brother: James Knox Boteler, Jr. of Mobile; Sister: Susan (Bruce) Caples of Tuscaloosa; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and so many friends. On Saturday, October 8, 2011, the family welcomes everyone to come for a visitation at Fairhope United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon at the church to celebrate John’s life.
