Joseph Jackson, Jr.

GULF SHORES, AL Mr. Joseph Lee Jackson, age 78, a native of Woodville, GA and resident of Gulf Shores, AL, died on September 26, 2011, at his home. He attended Bass High School in Atlanta, GA, then moved to Mobile and completed his senior year at Murphy High School. He was a 1959 graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University. A proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in French Indochina and the Pacific during the Korean War. He retired from the Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, and later worked for the law firm of Kittrell & Middlebrooks. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Jan Nisbet Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and his children Leigh Jackson of Mobile, AL, Jeff Jackson of Ocean Springs, MS, Jim Crawford of Pensacola, FL, Cathy Palmer of Richardson, TX, his sisters Barbara Everitt and Mary Torp of Gautier, MS, and his granddaughters Diane Palmer, Marley Catherine Crawford and Raines Jackson. A celebration of life memorial service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 3:00 pm.
