Valerio 'Val' Ciancetta

DAPHNE, AL. Valerio “Val”  Ciancetta, age 62, a native of Steubenville, OH and a resident of Daphne, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Val was an active member of Christ The King Catholic Church and a former active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Warren, OH. Val graduated from Franciscan University receiving a BA in Chemistry, leading him to a forty year career in the steel industry.  He was an avid golfer who enjoyed reading and cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Ciancetta of Daphne; his daughters, Christine Ciancetta of Daphne and Adrienne Ciancetta and her fiancé, Paul Sarran both of Chicago, IL;  his mother, Pauline Ciancetta of Steubenville, OH; his sister, Sharon Allen of Milford, DE; and his beloved companions, Rocky, Cheerio and Barnacle. Val was preceded in death by his father, Valerio Ciancetta, Sr. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at the church.
