DAPHNE, AL Daniel Vincent DiNardi, age 14, a resident of Daphne, AL, lost his battle to stay alive on Monday, June 27, 2011. Daniel is survived by his parents, Mark Lazarek and Paula DiNardi Lazarek of Daphne; a brother, William Scott of Columbia, SC; a sister, Julianna "Jules" DiNardi of Daphne and his maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC, also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and three stepsisters who loved him very much, and thousands of friends who prayed for him to win his fight. Daniel is preceded in death by his infant sister, Suzy. Daniel attended Daphne Middle School and was in his happy place in life, doing the things he loved to do. He spent his days fishing, riding his dirt bike, making videos, and he loved food. His proudest moment was just two weeks ago, when he caught a shark off May Day Pier. Daniel was strong, physically, emotionally and spiritually. He was passionate and compassionate. He said I love you everyday and had a smile that his mother found peace in. Daniel's fight inspired thousands of people across the world, gave them hope and restored faith through the power of prayer. His legacy will continue. He is his mama's hero. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10 AM at the Church On The Eastern Shore, corner of hwy 181 and hwy 104, Fairhope, Alabama.
