Douglas L. Moore

SPANISH FORT, AL.   Douglas L. Moore, age 90, a native of Porterville, MS. and a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011.  His wife, Cora B. Moore, age 79, native of Lauderdale, MS preceded his death on March 10, 2011.   Mr. Moore was a deacon at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Kemper County, MS, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and was a former supervisor for Gulf Mobile Railroad, now Illinois Central & Gulf Railroad.  After retirement he raised Brahma bulls.   Mrs. Moore was also a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church.  She was a former employee of the Porterville Post office and worked at numerous florist.   They moved to Spanish Fort, AL in 2001 to live closer to their daughter.  They were members of East Pointe Baptist Church in Spanish Fort, AL.   They are survived by their daughter, Cheryl M. Rockwell of Spanish Fort; beloved pet: Casey-Girl; nieces, Linda G.
