Charles Eldon "Don" Wright, Jr.

DAPHNE, AL Charles Eldon "Don" Wright, Jr. died peacefully at home Thursday, March 24, 2011. His loving wife of 54 years was at his bedside along with the two faithful dogs of the family. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the VP16 Navy Air Corp. Don was a resident of Daphne for the past 18 years. He was born in Clinton, TN, the son of Reverend C. Eldon Wright, Sr. and his mother was Nettie Blanc of Knoxville, TN, who died when Don was eight years of age. Prior to his retirement and his move to Daphne, Don was an electrical engineer in California. Don was an active and enthusiastic sports fan. He enjoyed attending the sports events of the local schools. He was a member of the Lake Forest Golf Association as well as the Seniors Golf Club. For 17 years, he and Barbara delivered "Meals on Wheels" to local residents. Don is survived by his lovely wife, Barbara, a niece, Lori Blair, Kingsport, Tennessee, and a nephew David Cook of Middleboro, Kentucky. Don was an active member of the Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10 am at the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
