Mary Evelyn Drayton

DAPHNE Mary Evelyn George Drayton, age 74 passed away on March 14th, 2011. She was a native of Columbus, MS but had resided in Daphne since 1980. She was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women. She had been employed by both Federal and State governments, worked as a Medical Transcriptionist and Church Secretary. She was a former member of the Junior Service League and Business and Professional Women in Statesville, North Carolina. She was a charter member of East Pointe Baptist Church. Mrs. Drayton was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie E. Drayton, Sr. and son George David Drayton. She is survived by two sons, W. Edward Drayton, Jr. (Carol), and John Goodwin Drayton of Daphne. Grandsons, Ben of Atlanta, GA, Brandon of Birmingham, Jacob of Spring Mills, PA. and John Christopher of Daphne. Funeral services will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM and conducted by Dr. Rob Burns (Pastor of East Pointe). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in MemoryGardens of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of East Pointe Baptist Church, P.O.
