Mattie L. Andersen

SUMMERDALE, AL Mrs. Mattie L. Andersen age 96 born in Poarch, AL and a residence of Summerdale, AL passed away on January 27, 2011 at a local health care facility.She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Atmore, AL, charter member and founder  of Greenwood Community Covenant Church seventy-six years ago, Also a retired school bus driver. She is preceeded in death by her husband Raymond Andersen, Sr., Step parents Hattie and A.J. "Bud" Steadham, 4 brothers, Jack, Savannah, John, and Adam Daughtry; 2 sisters, Lola D. Presley and Mary Pickern, all of Atmore, AL 1 granddaughter Brooke Lee Harris Buscaino Survivors include one daughter, Deloris (Darrell) Porter of Summerdale, AL 2 Sons Raymond (Liz) Andersen, Jr. of Summerdale and Arthur (Pat) Andersen of Summerdale, AL 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson 11 great grandchildren 5 great great grandchildren nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on  Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 31, 2011 from Greenwood Community Covenant Church at 10:00 AM. She will lie in state at the church from 9:00am until time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Greenwood Community Covenant Church, Summerdale, AL The family sends a special thanks to Dr. Joseph Steele, Robertsdale Health Care Center, and Covenant Hospice.
