ESLAVA JOSEPHINE, AL Wayne Miguel Eslava passed away Sunday, January 24, 2011 in Foley at the age of 75. He was a native of Mobile and a resident of Josephine. Wayne was a 1953 graduate of McGill Institute. Mr. Eslava was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former deacon and member of Josphine Baptist Church and former volunteer at the Josephine Fire Dept. He was also a former deacon and member of First Assembly of God in Mobile. Mr. Eslava retired from CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer with over twenty-five years of service and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Annette Eslava of Josephine; two sons, Wayne M. Eslava, Jr., Garrick E. Eslava; two daughters, Amber Mathers, Christa Eiland, all of Mobile; three stepdaughters, Tonya Beech of Lucedale, MS, Kelly Beech of Jacksonville, FL, Ashley Reid of Gig Harbor, WA; one brother, Dale Eslava of Gulfport, MS; three sisters, Gloria Tanner, Joyce Eslava both of Mobile, Carlita Jemison of Agricola, MS and eleven grandchildren. Mr. Eslava was preceded in death by two brothers, George Elwood Eslava, Jr. and Kenneth Tracy Eslava. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
