EPPERSON LILLIAN Essie Jernigan Epperson passed away at her home in Lillian, AL on Saturday, January 22, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born August 4, 1938 in Pensacola, FL, Essie spent most of her adult life in Baldwin County, AL where she was a social worker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Arthur Epperson. Essie is survived by her children, Andrea Tedinne Parsons (Ken) of Pensacola, Teresa Langenbach (Andrew) of Ashburn, VA and Todd Williams (Tina) of Loganville, GA. Essie also leaves behind her beloved seven grandchildren, Wes, Madison, Zoe, Keenan, Chase, Mayzie and Grace, who will miss her dearly. In addition, Essie leaves five stepchildren, Barbara Epperson Clark, Janice Epperson Tello (Fred), Clifton Epperson (Jane), Bob Epperson (Brenda), Kirk Epperson (Diane), her sister and brothers and many more family and friends who were a big part of her life. Essie made an impact on all who knew her. She was courageous and loved life, and she always made time to enjoy the sunsets over the water every evening. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren, who will miss her lively spirit, fondness for dancing and laughing. Essie was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 5-7 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, AL. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Swift Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank her caregivers who were her special angels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile, AL.
