Sally Riggins Small

AUSIN, TX Sally Riggins Small, age 78, a native of Cullman, AL, a long time resident of Gulf Shores, AL, and a current resident of Austin, TX, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011.  Sally graduated from Fairhope High School in 1949.  She was a graduate of Florence State Teachers College in 1952 and received her masters in 1971.  Mrs. Small retired as a teacher in the Alabama Public School System. Mrs. Small was preceded in death by her husband, Ret. Lt. Col. Thomas H. Small. She is survived by herchildren, Thomas D. Small and his wife Karen, of Centerville, TN,Rolan Small and his wife Anita of Peach Tree City, GA,Susan McDonald and her husband Mike of Austin, TX,grandchildren, Thomas P. and Jessica Small,Christopher and Justin Small,Jennifer Garber and Lauren McDonald,four great grandchildren,sisters, Dot Threadgill and her husband Rix of Fairhope, AL,Mary Babin and her husband Ed of Birmingham, AL,nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 2:00pm.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00pm until service time. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
