JOSEPHINE   Harold Lloyd Stiles, formally from Copperhill , TN and Jupiter, FL passed away on December 18, 2010 in Foley , AL . He was born August 27, 1924 in Ravenna , Kentucky the son of Ervin & Edna Stiles. He spent his youth growing up on the family farm in Turtletown , TN.                During World War II he joined the Army, served in Europe under General Patton as a tank commander with the 3 rd Army, 15 th tank battalion, B company, 6 th armored division. He was awarded two Purple Hearts. He met and married Elizabeth “Joy” Slatter in England . After the war they both settled in Copperhill , TN where he was a barber. They later moved to Riviera Beach , FL , Jupiter, FL and finally to Josephine , AL to live closer to their daughter, Brenda Stiles Pelfrey. Harold was a loving father and family provider. He enjoyed golf, hunting, boating, but fishing was his favorite pastime and cooking fish after a successful day of fishing. He grew several fruit trees and enjoyed sharing the fruit with family and friends. Surviving are his children Brenda Stiles Pelfrey of Josephine, AL; son Danny Stiles of Lexington, KY; grand daughters Laura Pelfrey of Kennesaw, Ga and Lisa Pelfrey Lee of Hiram, GA;Brother Hoyt Stiles of Cleveland, TN; sisters Christine Muir of Cleveland, TN; Betty Collins and Carolyn Hughes both of Turtletown, TN; Louise Womble of Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to woundedwarriors.org. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tennessee .
